Arsenal are looking to replace Partey and Jorginho

According to Calciomercato, Arsenal have identified Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad and Aurelien Tchouameni of Real Madrid as possible midfield targets.

Over the past 12 months, Arsenal have concentrated on strengthening their midfield, which has led to Declan Rice's £100 million summer transfer to the Emirates Stadium. But with Thomas Partey and Jorginho both strongly connected to departures, there may be more changes in January.

Tchouameni, 23, has been a key member of Real Madrid's squad this year, frequently seeing action in the heart of defence. He might, however, be amenable to leaving Los Blancos, where he would likely return to his more comfortable position in midfield.

Arsenal have rekindled their curiosity in Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, while Mikel Arteta is also interested in Real Madrid's Aurelien Tchouameni.

The Gunners' attempt to acquire Zubimendi, a player with two caps for Spain, for £53 million previously this year was unsuccessful. The 24-year-old, who has a £53 million (€60 million) release option in his Basque club agreement, is well-liked in both LaLiga and the Premier League.

When the Gunners showed interest in Zubimendi last year, the player himself was hesitant to leave Real Sociedad, the team he had played for his whole career. His desire to play for the Basque club in the Champions League this year was a major factor in his decision to stay there.

For Arteta, captain Martin Odegaard is still essential, with summer acquisition Declan Rice expected to fill the No. 8 position opposite the Norway playmaker.
