Endrick expected to inherit No 9 shirt at Real Madrid next season

The Brazilian is currently playing for Palmeiras
Following his return from Palmeiras in the summer of 2024, Brazilian teenager Endrick will allegedly receive the coveted number 9 jersey from Real Madrid.
Last December, Los Blancos acquired the young striker for an initial reported fee of €35 million and €25 million in contingent fees. But while he waits to turn 18 and join the Spanish juggernauts, Endrick keeps on playing for Palmeiras.
The young player will replace former Real Madrid ace Karim Benzema, who chose to join Al-Ittihad in the summer, with the shirt number stated.
The past France international made 648 games in every league while at the Santiago Bernabeu, scoring 354 goals and dishing out 165 assists. He was successful in capturing the La Liga championship four times while winning the UEFA Champions League five times.
Endrick is recognised by many as one of the best athletes in the South American nation and will apparently assume responsibility for donning this historic kit number. The Brazilian striker, 17, has 20 first-division appearances this season and five goals.
He has made 49 total outings for Palmeiras' senior men's team, scoring 11 goals and dishing out two assists. It will be interesting to see if he lives up to the hype.
Karim Benzema, a prolific striker for Real Madrid, ended his 14-year tenure at the Santiago Bernabeu by signing with Al-Ittihad in the summer.
Stars from Europe like N'Golo Kante and Fabinho, who also finalised a transfer to Saudi Arabia during the recently closed transfer window, joined him.
