Mason Greenwood has a chance to revive his international career as the head coach of the Jamaica football team would love to have the forward in his team.

The forward is currently on loan at Getafe and is getting some game time at the Spanish club. Greenwood and Manchester United decided in August that it would be best for the footballer to continue his career elsewhere.

The 22-year-old forward was suspended by Manchester United in January 2022. Greenwood faced allegations of attempted rape, assault and coercive control.

In February this year, The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed all charges against Greenwood had been dropped. The player has always denied the allegations.

A lengthy internal investigation was conducted by United and it was determined it would be better for Greenwood to continue his career elsewhere. Since moving to Getafe on loan on deadline day, the forward has made four appearances - with one assist to show for his efforts over 170 minutes.

Jamaica head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson was asked about Greenwood - who is eligible to represent the Caribbean nation through his parents. Hallgrimsson told Jamaica Observer, "I'm not different from all coaches in the world. We would like to have the best talent on our team. If he gets his former fitness and former levels, then for sure he would have that level to help Jamaica."

Mason Greenwood has so far made four appearances for Getafe FC, providing one assist, and is yet to score for his new club. His first start came against Athletic Club in the LaLiga.

The striker has made one international appearance for England in 2020. However, the striker would be able to switch allegiances in the future, potentially, as that outing came before a rule change from FIFA.
