The Special One has led Roma to back-to-back European finals

Jose Mourinho could lose his job as the Roma head coach if his side fails to beat this weekend's opponents Cagliari.

Roma have started the season poorly, putting pressure on the Portuguese coach. According to Corriere dello Sport, Mourinho is on the verge of losing his job.

Mourinho's men are sitting 13th in the Serie A table with eight points in the first seven games. They have won two games, drawn two and lost the other three matches.

Jose Mourinho's team are known for their defensive displays. This has not been the case with Roma as they have conceded 11 goals in the first seven games and scored 15 times.

Mourinho's men have been in decent form in their UEFA Europa League campaign. Roma have won their opening two matches in Europe and are the strongest contenders to finish at the top of the table.

This is Mourinho's second spell in Italy. He was the manager of Inter Milan from 2008 to 2010 and led them to a famous treble in the 2009-10 season.

His last job before taking over as the Roma manager was in England with Tottenham Hotspur from 2019 to 2021. Dany Levy was the last person to sack him in April 2021.

Mourinho will be under pressure a lot of pressure in the next game against Cagliari. The Portuguese led his side to a 1-0 win at home against the same opponents back in January 2022 in the Serie A 2021-22 season.

Cagliari are currently at the bottom of the table in the Italian top division. They have only scored two goals and are on a three-match losing streak. A win will only save the job for Jose Mourinho.
