The latest shareholder of Bourges Foot 18, a French Championnat National 2 team, is Senegalese player Sadio Mane.

The Al-Nassr star has been officially certified as the primary shareholder of the French company after completing the purchase of the club on Tuesday morning.

After N'Golo Kante bought into Belgian third-tier team Royal Excelsior Virton, Mane became the most recent footballer to purchase a club.

Sadio Mane joined via video message during a press conference in France. As seen on social media, he appeared excited to be a member of the club's administration.

The 31-year-old has made investments in a number of projects back in Senegal, and the purchase of the French team is said to be a means of assisting the country's young football players in achieving their dream of playing professional football.

Prior to playing for Red Bull Salzburg, Southampton, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich, Mane began his career as a player in France by signing with Ligue 1 club FC Metz.

He transferred from the German giants to Al-Nassr during the summer move window.

Mane's family was present at Saudi Arabia's Al-Awwal Park to cheer on their player for the Asian Champions League match between Al-Nassr and Al-Duhail.

After scoring his first goal of the tournament, the 31-year-old helped the Saudi Pro League team defeat their rivals 4-3 and keep their perfect record in Group E.

Mane's family was seen celebrating in a social media video when the former Liverpool player scored his team's second goal in the exciting match.
