Uttar Pradesh set to host first-ever national level football game

Inter Kashi will play their first-ever home game today in Lucknow.
India’s most populated and fourth largest state Uttar Pradesh is all set to script history by hosting its first-ever national level football game on the 21st of November, Tuesday, when Inter Kashi take on the historical Indian club Mohammedan SC in the I-League. As per information received, 1500 kids are invited for the game along with some VIPs.
The game is a testament of the growing development of football in one of India’s biggest demographic hub, and will be an exciting clash between two top-notch teams.
The match will be played at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, and will kick off at 2 pm IST.
A battle of two top teams
Both Mohammedan SC and Inter Kashi are in exceptional form at the moment, and find themselves first and fifth in the points table, respectively.
Inter Kashi come into this game on the back of two great wins against Namdhari and Churchill Brothers, whereas Mohammedan are undefeated so far this season, with four wins and a draw in five matches.
In a tweet ahead of the game, Inter Kashi gave a pretty heartwarming message, which was a true attestation of what the club is at its core, and the values that it is based on.
The tweet read, “1500 children will be at the Ekana Football Ground in Lucknow for our first-ever home game vs Mohammedan Sporting. The match is dedicated to inspiring the younger generation and to promote football in Uttar Pradesh.”
With both teams in great form at the moment, and with a great attendance expected in Lucknow, this I-League game is bound to be a belter, which will forever be a marked as a historic day in Indian football, as the state of Uttar Pradesh will carve its name into the history of football in the country.
