FIFA U17 World Cup: List of all Golden Glove winners

This award is only presented six times in the FIFA U17 World Cup

The FIFA Technical Study Group, which evaluates custodian performance during the World Cup, selects the champion. If there is a tie amongst the players, the honour goes to the goalie who advanced the farthest in the match, and then to the player with the most saves and minutes played.

This specific prize has been given out by the organising committee ever since the competition began. But it wasn't until 1994 that it was formally acknowledged as the Lev Yashin Award, after the renowned Soviet custodian of the same name.

FIFA established the FIFA U-16 World Championship on the advice of Sepp Blatter, the organization's chief executive at the time, while he was in Singapore to host the 1982 Lion City Cup.

Since 1985, when the inaugural event took place in China, tournaments have been held every two years. The competition was initially restricted to players under the age of 16, but starting with the 1991 edition, the age limit was expanded to 17. 1,347,133 people attended the FIFA U17 World Cup in 2017, making it the most attended competition in the event's existence. India served as the championship's host nation.

Boasting five titles and three runners-up finishes, Nigeria has been the most accomplished country in the history of the competition. With four titles and two runners-up finishes, Brazil is the world's second-greatest nation. The competition has been won twice by Ghana and Mexico.
