Lionel Messi has one of the best goalscoring record against Real

Lionel Messi's says his best goal was his slaloming run and finish versus Real Madrid in the 2011 Champions League semi-final.

When it comes to favourite goals, the Argentine has an abundance of options. Ultimately, he has 821 options to select from. However, Messi has disclosed his favourite for the first time.

Messi also mentioned some of his best goals from the World Cup and Champions League finals. In the 2022 World Cup final, the Argentine scored his nation's third goal.

Messi, who is returning to practise with Inter Miami, is going to be an important member of the Herons come February when the MLS regular campaign resumes.

After the partying eventually died down, Messi sat down to consider his career. The former Barcelona player was asked to select his favourite goal from his more than 800 career goals.

He went back to a goal he had scored for the Spanish powerhouses in the UEFA Champions League semifinals more than ten years ago against their fierce rivals Real Madrid.

"A goal that I always remember, and I don't go much for the goal, and what the goals mean, it's the goal against Real Madrid, which we beat 2-0 in the Champions League semi-final at the Bernabeu," the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner said in an interview after claiming the award on Monday.

Given the importance of the moment and his daring to walk right past the entire Real Madrid defenders despite their aerial tackles, the goal in question is regarded by many as one of the best that Messi has ever made in his career.

Messi, who is currently 36 years old, played for FC Barcelona for 18 years of his career, rising through the ranks to the first squad and eventually becoming a superstar. Before joining Paris Saint-Germain, the Argentinean scored 672 goals in 778 matches over almost two decades at the club.
