Liverpool reach agreement with Max Eberl to become next Sporting director

Max Eberl was also approached by Bayern Munich to become their Sporting director
Max Eberl, the previous sports director of Red Bull Leipzig, has reportedly signed a deal with both Bayern Munich and Liverpool, as reported by the French media outlet Sports Zone.
Eberl, who was fired in September from his position as sporting director of RB Leipzig, is presently on Garden Leave. Strong reports surrounding his departure from the team suggested that he might join Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich, who had fired Hasan Salihamidzic after their championship-winning season.
Eberl is unable to sign with Bayer Munich because he is currently on Garden Leave, despite having a contract that allows him to join the Bavarian club. The German has agreed to join Premier League team Liverpool, but he might also join Bayern Munich if that is not possible.
Presently serving as Liverpool's temporary sports director is Jorg Schmadtke. Julian Ward, who was only with the team for a year, was replaced by him.
Max Eberl, the former sporting director of RB Leipzig, is determined to join Bayern Munich amid Liverpool's intense interest.
The Reds are now looking for Julian Ward's overtime replacement. Ward resigned at the end of the previous season, just a few months after taking over for Michael Edwards.
After that, Jorg Schmadtke signed a short-term contract with Anfield to help Jurgen Klopp during the transfer period in the summer, but it is unlikely that he will stay on Merseyside past this season's campaign.
Both Bayern Munich and Liverpool are reportedly interested in Eberl, although the latter only employed Christoph Freund in a comparable role earlier this year, according to German publication Bild. Eberl would rather stay in Germany with Bayern, although he is 'honoured' by Liverpool's desire to sign him.
