Nicolas Jackson returns after missing the last international break

Aliou Cisse has announced the Senegal national football team for the November international break. Nicolas Jackson returns to the squad after withdrawing late from the October break. He scored his first hat-trick for Chelsea against Tottenham Hotspur and a goal against Manchester City in a thrilling 4-4 draw.

Senegal begin their FIFA World Cup 2026 qualification campaign this week. They play against South Sudan behind closed doors at Stade Me Abdoulaye Wade.

The second match is away against Togo at Stade de Kégué. Senegal is in Group B along with DR Congo, Mauritania and Sudan along with the two teams they play in November.

Senegal played two international friendlies against Algeria and Cameroon in the October international break. They lost 1-0 against Algeria in the first match. Against Cameroon, Sadio Mane scored a penalty to hand his side a 1-0 win.

The Senegalese team will start their Africa Cup of Nations 2023 against Gambia on 15 January 2024. Cameroon and Guinea are the other two teams in Group C of the competition.

The manager has only made one change in the national team for the upcoming international break. Mamadou Sane misses out and Formose Mendy, a 22-year-old defender of French side Lorient replaces him in the side.

Cisse will aim to start the World Cup qualification campaign with wins. They will need this momentum for the upcoming AFCON 2023, which starts in just two months' time.
