Sheikh Jassim previously wanted to buy Manchester United

West Ham United's Vanessa Gold, the daughter of the late joint-chairman David Gold, has put up to 10% of her ownership stake on the market. International purchasers are taking notice of this, as reported by The Times.

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani of Qatar, who made an unsuccessful effort to purchase Manchester United, may be contemplating making an offer for this interest.

In addition to her family, Vanessa Gold owns 25% of West Ham. She works along with Rothschild Bank to facilitate sales. Sources indicate that Ms. Gold may consider selling her family's whole interest if the financial circumstances are suitable.

Daniel Kretinsky, a Czech businessman, acquired a 27% share in the team in 2021. It is said that he was notified of Vanessa Gold's intention to sell, although it is unlikely that he will buy these shares. We have reached out to some additional possible investors regarding this offer.

At well under 39%, David Sullivan currently owns most of West Ham. The financier Tripp Smith owns 8%.

This sale initiative is taking place at the same time as Sir Jim Ratcliffe is getting close to finishing his £1.3 billion, 25% stake ownership of Manchester United.

Additionally, it has been eighteen months since the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital partnership paid £2.5 billion to acquire Chelsea. Sheikh Jassim made an offer for Manchester United worth £5 billion, while the Glazers were looking for more like £6 billion.

Next week, the club is scheduled to approve Ratcliffe's bid, which should finally put an end to the takeover drama. Following their 3-0 loss to Manchester City, the Red Devils are scheduled to play in the Carabao Cup again.
