Man City plotting £50m move for Bayern target Joao Palhinha
Joao Palhinha is wanted by many European clubs
Joao Palhinha of Fulham is the target of an alleged daring £50 million transfer raid by Manchester City. The midfield player has recently been connected to Chelsea and Liverpool, but the defending Premier League winners could now make a move.
Several of Europe’s best teams, including Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the summer, have expressed interest in Palhinha. On deadline day, the latter was about to make a big-money transfer to the German Titans, but the deal fell through at the last minute.
However, Palhinha has been rumoured to be a Premier League transfer over the past few weeks. Chelsea and Liverpool are leading the teams seeking to hire him as he continues to make an impression in the top division.
The Daily Star claims Mauricio Pochettino has cooled the Blues’ interest since he does not want to add players to his already overabundant roster.

Additionally, Liverpool has shelved their efforts to sign Palhinha. Furthermore, it is now rumoured that City intends to make a surprise £50 million move for the 28-year-old in January.
In order to help City win a fourth consecutive title, Guardiola will look to replace Kalvin Phillips, who is slated to go soon and is being pursued by both Juventus and Bayern Munich.
The Portuguese international’s deal with Fulham runs until June 2028, but in January, City might be able to entice Fulham to let him go by offering a hefty sum.
At the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, they took an early 2-0 lead over Crystal Palace, but Michael Olise’s penalty kick in the fifth minute of extra time ultimately saw them cut the score to 2-2. Even though they have played one extra game, City is currently three points behind league leaders Liverpool.
