Casemiro misses Brazil training due to ankle knock

Erik ten Hag might have to deal with another injury blow
Following Casemiro's ankle was injured in Friday's 1-1 draw between Brazil and Venezuela, Manchester United are now concerned about his fitness.
In the 79th minute, the 31-year-old requested a substitution after experiencing discomfort, and United later posted on their website that the "severity of the problem is unclear." However, the midfielder has since been seen posing for photos with supporters and showing no signs of injury.
On Friday night, the Brazil national team posted a short clip of the United player on its stories on Instagram, and an image on their official website depicts the midfielder exiting the squad's bus.
In seven days, United is scheduled to play Sheffield United. Casemiro was sent off for receiving two yellow cards in the 3-2 loss to Galatasaray earlier this month and has been banned for his next Champions League match against Copenhagen on the following Tuesday.
However, Erik ten Hag will be hoping to be fit for United's first game back and will be watching to see if Casemiro plays in Brazil's upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifier against Uruguay on Wednesday morning.
Casemiro's absence was explained by Brazil's manager Fernando Diniz in a post-game interview.
“As there was a stop (in play), I decided to make the three substitutions,” he told Globo Esporte. “We had a lot of control when they came on. Casemiro asked to come off due to a blow to his ankle.”
Following joining the club in 2022, Casemiro has been suspended for eight games, however, he has yet to be declared out of a United game due to injury. This season, Ten Hag's team has been hampered by ongoing injuries.
Since the beginning of preseason, up to 16 players have been injured, with Lisandro Martinez perhaps out until 2024 due to another episode of the foot problem he first experienced in April.
