Malaysia have never defeated Jordan.

The 2023 AFC Asian Cup is up and running. Group E’s second match will see Malaysia take on Jordan in an entertaining clash at the Al Janoub Stadium on Monday evening. After three failed attempts Malaysia have finally made it to continental championship.

Jordan on the other hand, will be keen to put together a better performance than 2019 where they finished last in their group. The Chivalrous ones come into this game after pulling off a 2-1 win against the defending champions Qatar in a friendly.

The striker is Malaysia’s highest active goal-scorer with 20 goals to his name in 58 appearances. He is known for his ability to shoot from distance and to perfectly curl the ball. Safawi has played an instrumental role in bringing Malaysia back to the AFC Asian Cup with his good run of performances in the qualifiers.

A clean striker of the ball, Hamza Al-Dardour will be Jordan’s main man up front at Asia’s top ranked football championship. The 5.10 ft tall striker is known for his aerial strength and goal-scoring abilities. Hamza always has an eye for goal and has scored 34 goals for Jordan in the process. Moreover, he is Jordan’s seventh-highest capped player with 104 caps to his name.
