Thailand name 26-member squad for AFC Asian Cup 2023

Thailand reached the Round of 16 in 2019 AFC Asian Cup.

Thailand’s national football team has announced its squad for the upcoming 2023 AFC Asian Cup. The prestigious continental tournament begins from 12 January 2024 onwards in Qatar. The War Elephants are in Group F of the competition alongside teams such as Saudi Arabia, Kyrgyzstan and Oman.

Thailand has participated in the main draw of the AFC Asian Cup on seven occasions but has never won the competition. They reached the Round of 16 in 2019, held in the United Arab Emirates. The aim for Masatada Ishii, the head coach of the Thailand national team will be to guide the team through the group stages and reach further in the knockout stages than last time.

To do that, Thailand’s FA has sent a team to the AFC Asian Cup that boasts a superb mix of experience and youth. Theerathon Bunmathan will be captaining the side and has the will to lead the team by example.
