List of Indian coaching staff at AFC Asian Cup 2023

Former Manchester City star midfielder Trevor Sinclair is the assistant coach of the Blue Tigers.

The Indian squad comprising of 26 players was unveiled on December 30, 2023, to participate in the upcoming AFC Asian Cup 2023 in Doha, Qatar. Senior players such as Sunil Chhetri, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu and Sandesh Jhingan will provide leadership to the younger members under the guidance of head coach Igor Stimac.

Igor Stimac (Head Coach)

The man on a mission, Igor Stimac, has emerged as one of the most influential coaches the Indian football team has ever had. All attention will be focused on his team as they strive to deliver an exceptional performance in the upcoming tournament.

Trevor Sinclair (Assistant Coach)

In a significant development, the AIFF has secured the services of former West Ham and Manchester City star midfielder Trevor Sinclair for the AFC Asian Cup and he officially joined the team on December 29, 2023. His role is to primarily focus on set-piece execution and wing play within the team.

Mahesh Gawli (Assistant Coach)

Since October 2022, Mahesh has held the position of deputy to Stimac. Additionally, he has fulfilled the role of head coach for the India U-20 team. This allows the former national team defender to conduct thorough player analysis and oversee the development of promising talents capable of delivering optimal performances at the senior level.

Frano Srdarev (Goalkeeping Coach)

Frano oversees the goalkeeping tactics for the team, contributing to the development of specific skills alongside the three experienced custodians; Amrinder Singh, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, and Vishal Kaith.

Luka Radman (Fitness Coach)

When you are a sportsperson, achieving optimal physical condition is crucial for sustaining peak performance consistently. Luka, the appointed strength and conditioning coach, is responsible for overseeing the fitness regimen of the team’s players.
