Who are the youngest players to score at the AFC Asian Cup in 21st century?

Since its establishment in 1968, the AFC Asian Cup has witnessed numerous players showcasing their skills and leaving a mark on the global stage while representing their respective nations.
In the 21st century, a total of six editions have been played, the first one starting in 2004. Throughout these six editions, including the recently concluded one, numerous young players have taken the center stage to score for their respective countries.
In this article, we will acknowledge the youngest goal-scorers at the AFC Asian Cup in the 21st century.
4. Marselino Ferdinan – 19 years, 4 months & 6 days
The Indonesian player made his debut in January 2022. To date, he has participated in 16 matches for his country and has netted three goals. His notable inclusion in the list of the youngest goal scorers in the 21st century occurred when he scored against Iraq on January 15th in the recently concluded edition.
3. Magid Mohamed Hassan – 18 years, 9 months 1& 7 days
Magid Mohamed Hassan, the Qatari player, made his national team debut in 2003. His initial appearance in the AFC Asian Cup was during the 2004 edition, during which he scored his sole goal of the tournament against Indonesia on 18th of July. However, his team unfortunately suffered a 2-1 defeat in that match.
He has represented Qatar 80 times, and has achieved a total of 13 goals during his tenure.
2. Mohanad Ali – 18 years, 6 months & 19 days
Iraq’s Mohanad Ali’s inaugural goal at the AFC Asian Cup came during the 2019 edition, when Iraq emerged victorious with a 3-2 scoreline against Vietnam.
1. Son Heung-min – 18 years, 6 months & 10 days
The superstar from South Korea, who currently represents Tottenham Hotspur, holds the distinction of being the youngest player to score a goal in the AFC Asian Cup in the 21st Century.
This milestone also signified his inaugural goal at the international level. On January 11, 2011, he secured the decisive goal in their 4-1 triumph against India, thereby attaining the distinction of being the second youngest player to score for South Korea at that time.
