Mumbai City FC boss Petr Kratky was happy about how his team approached the second half.
Mumbai City FC are riding high on success in the Indian Super League, securing three consecutive wins with clean-sheets. Bipin Singh’s stellar performance, netting a brace against Chennaiyin FC, has been pivotal in their recent triumph. Head Coach Petr Kratky seems to have found the winning formula, forging a formidable team synergy.
With nine consecutive victories over Chennaiyin FC across all competitions, Mumbai City FC display remarkable consistency and dominance. Looking forward, the team will be hoping to maintain the same momentum against FC Goa as they displayed against the stern Chennaiyin FC defence.
Petr Kratky too highlighted the same in the post match press conference:
Tough Start
The Islanders were unable to break the deadlock during the first half and it kind of looked like they were missing the right spell. Petr Kratky said, “The start of the game was very tough for us.”
He also spoke highly of the Chennaiyin team. “Chennai are a very good team. They made it difficult for us, especially in the first half. So, I wasn’t happy with how we tried to play football. We changed a little bit at half-time and it paid off.”
A Good Squad
Petr Kratky seemed amused by how his team approached the second half and clinched the victory. He appreciated, “I am very happy for the players with how they approached the second half. They didn’t give up, they just kept going and got rewarded. We have got a good squad. They make an impact and this is what we are looking for. I am very happy, especially for the second half, and also regarding the football that we played. Boys know what’s at stake.”
Onto the next game
Mumbai City FC will be welcoming FC Goa at home on the 28th of February, and with the current momentum, it seems like the Islanders will be going all out to secure the victory against the Gaurs. When asked how the team will utilise this momentum, Petr Kratky said, “For me and for all of us, it’s game by game. So, we just need to focus on the next game now and get good rest and recovery. We need to stay together in the lows and highs. It’s very important for us to go game by game. We are looking no further than the next game which is very important for the group.”
