Mumbai City boss Petr Kratky believes the game wasn’t easy!
In a gripping clash between Mumbai City FC and Bengaluru FC, the momentum swung dramatically towards the Islanders, as they defeated the Blues at the Mumbai Football Arena by a two-goal margin.
Initially, Bengaluru FC seemed dominant, dictating the game’s tempo and creating scoring opportunities. However, Mumbai City FC refused to be outplayed, demonstrating resilience and determination. As the game progressed, the tide turned in Petr Kratky’s team’s favour, with Vikram Partap Singh emerging as the hero.
Let’s take a look at what the coach had to say in the post-match press conference:
Match Assessment
Mumbai City FC looked disoriented in the early 25 minutes and had zero shots, but a perfect pounce by Lallianzuala Chhangte in the penalty box allowed Vikram Partap Singh to open the scoring. Petr Kratky highlighted on the same and said, “Bengaluru started the game well. They tried to push for the first 10-15 minutes. We knew Bengaluru are a very good team, they are physical and hard-working. It’s a very good three points for us and the game wasn’t easy.”
Vikram Partap Singh’s brilliance
This match was one to remember for Vikram Partap Singh, as the left winger scored two goals to settle the game in favour of the Islanders. Petr Kratky recognizing his contribution highlighted, “All of them – Franklin (Nazareth), Ayush (Chhikara), Jayesh (Rane), every player that we have, they are very good players. Vikram, we need to just support him and give him time and space to improve.”
