Real Madrid reach agreement to sign Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies: Report

Alphonso Davies has one year left on his Bayern contract

Writer Alfredo Matilla (h/t RM4Arab) has reported that Real Madrid and Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies have struck an agreement about a possible summer transfer.

This is a significant development. The Merengues just need to agree on a transfer fee with Bayern for the 23-year-old player for the transaction to be finalised.

Davies, Kylian Mbappe, and Leny Yoro are among Real Madrid’s main objectives going into the summer transfer season, as has already been established.

The team regards the 23-year-old Canadian left-back in the highest respect and believes he is a significant improvement over the present group’s choices, Fran Garcia and Ferland Mendy.

Real Madrid defender David Alaba has reportedly been in contact with Davies in an attempt to persuade him to consider a potential transfer.

Los Blancos are keen to attack, and even though Bayern Munich is trying to persuade Davies to extend, it seems that the left-back will be travelling to the Spanish capital in the summer. Davies’ contract expires in 2025.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich still must sit together and work out the specifics of a transfer deal, even though one may already exist with Davies.

As a result, while there is some excitement about the signing of the 23-year-old, there are also some worries because the Merengues know that the Bundesliga winners will not be taking anything lightly.

The left-back might be headed to Real Madrid in the summer, though it all depends on how talks with Bayern Munich go.

It remains yet to be observed how that will affect the careers of the current left-backs, Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia.
