And after the drinks break, Parthib Gogoi scored a goal straight from the heavens and ended his goal drought to put his side in the lead. Gogoi had two more chances before half-time, but both his shots were blocked.

Parthib Gogoi started the second half from where he left and tested Laxmikant Kattimani with a long ranger from outside the box. Alex Saji scored an own goal from a Romain Philippoteaux corner and strengthened NorthEast United’s lead early in the second half.

Alex Saji then tested Mirshad on the other end before Bemammer set up Parthib once again, but his header went above the crossbar. Abdul Rabeeh put in a brilliant ball into the box and Makan Chothe guided it past Mirshad Michu to pull a goal back for his side. Joao Victor restored parity for his side following a mistake from the NorthEast goalie.
