We are only a short time away from kick-off, as Bengaluru FC is all set to take on Nepalese club Tribhuwan Army FC in their AFC Cup 2021 Preliminary Round Stage 2 Qualifier match at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim, Goa.

As you all know, this is BFC head coach Marco Pezzaiuoli’s first-ever competitive game in charge, having taken over the reins from Carles Cuadrat who parted ways with the club during the recently concluded ISL 2020-21 season. That said, it also needs to be mentioned that the Blues did not have a very good domestic season, as they finished at seventh place on the league table. Hence, they also failed to qualify for the playoffs, for the first time ever in their history.

Today, Bengaluru FC will be keen to banish the demons from their dismal ISL campaign, and only a win over Tribhuwan Army will help them achieve that objective. The Nepalese side, on the other hand, are coming fresh from a win against Sri Lanka Police in the AFC Cup 2021 Preliminary Round Stage 1 Qualifier match which was held earlier this month.

“They (Tribhuwan Army) are quick, fast, and are good on the ball. They are focused on counter-attack. It is our issue to prepare not getting chances against us. It is not possible 100%, but we are really focused on them not creating chances and creating our own chances to score goals. We need to have a high tempo in the game.
