The Uruguayan scored once in each half to earn his side all three points....
Emiliano Alfaro struck a brace to down FC Goa 2-0 as NorthEast United grabbed their second successive victory in the Hero Indian Super League clash at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Guwahati, on Tuesday. The Uruguayan striker scored once in each session as the hosts surged to the top of the table with six points from their first two matches at home. Both teams were cagey at the start and took time to ascertain each other’s strength and spot weakness. NorthEast United seemed more settled at the start and wasted a golden chance in the 12th minute. A left-footed cross from Koffi Christian, popularly known as Romaric, was missed at the first post by Alfaro but there was still a chance for Katsumi who chose to go for glory himself, only for Goa goalkeeper Kattimani to make a diving safe. Had Yusa, who scored the winner in the opening match, spotted his teammates in the box, the story may have been different.Kattimani mistake gave NEUFC first goal.@EmiAlfaro33 pounces on Kattimani's error to give @NEUtdFC the lead! #NEUvGOA #LetsFootball pic.twitter.com/ZB8GND1Yse
