The Spaniard expressed his fret over the long wait to know his side's opponents in the playoffs.
ATK ended their league campaign in the Indian Super League (ISL) by playing out a thrilling 2-2 draw against Bengaluru FC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru on Saturday. After going two goals down in the first half, thanks to strikes from Dimas Delgado and new signing Kevaughn Frater, the Kolkata giants roared back with late strikes from Edu Garcia and Michael Soosairaj denying the hosts an opportunity to seal the third spot for themselves. Antonio Habas was fairly satisfied with the result, but indicated his side could’ve won in the end. He said, “The first half was won by Bengaluru and the second half by us. The result is fair for me. Maybe we had the opportunity to win the match 3-2 because the referee didn’t allow a goal late on for us. But, no problem we take this result.” [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] The Spaniard also explained his makeshift team for the day and what sparked the comeback in the second half. “We wanted to play a mixed team including players from the last XI and new players for this match. But, I think in the first half the team wasn’t good with the ball and not comfortable.” “We made too many mistakes with the passes. In the second half with the changes, we increased the intensity and level of our football which ushered the comeback,” he added. Antonio Habas also gave an update on defender Agus Garcia, who had to return back to Spain for personal reasons. “We have to continue life without Agus. He had a big problem with his family. Now, we must find a solution to build a competitive team for the semi-finals. But, some things in life are more important than football and we wish Agus the best," he said. He explained, “I don’t understand this. Why the teams have to wait so long for their match? We don’t know which opponent to prepare for. Bengaluru and Chennaiyin both play different styles. So, now we have to wait till Tuesday to find out how we prepare for the playoffs.”Related News
