Zambrotta urges players to focus ahead of ATK clash..
Delhi Dynamos FC will be eyeing their fourth win on the bounce in Hero Indian Super League 2016 when they host Atlético de Kolkata at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday. The Dynamos head into the contest against ATK on the back of a convincing 4-1 win against defending champions Chennaiyin FC. Delhi are also currently top of the table with 16 points from their nine outings this season. Their only loss this year came at the hands of ATK earlier in the season after an Iain Hume penalty gave the 2014 winners all three points in Kolkata. Head coach Gianluca Zambrotta wants his side to use their only loss under him as a source of extra motivation ahead of the clash. “It was a good match and we lost against a very good team, so it’s not revenge but it’s a special motive for us to focus on this team because it’s the only team we have lost to, so for this reason we will try to concentrate on this match,” Zambrotta told reporters on Saturday. “ATK is one of the best teams in the league, we respect them. They have really good players, they have really good quality and this is a very important match of the season. We really have to focus and pay attention to tomorrow’s game.” Delhi’s Brazilian talisman, Marcelinho has scored five goals and provided four assists, while their marquee player Florent Malouda burst into life in their last game with two goals and two assists. When asked for his thoughts on the Dynamos’ deadly duo, Zambrotta said: “Marcelinho and Malouda did a very good job but I’m not just happy for these two players but for the whole team because they’re working very hard and they’re growing each day, we’re happy but we have to get better. If we keep working hard day by day, we can improve by a margin, and by doing that we will have a beautiful way to play.” The 39-year old FIFA World Cup-winner also informed that Chinglensana Singh and Richard Gadze were injury doubts for the ATK clash. “About the injuries regarding Chinglensana and Gadze, we are waiting for the medical department to give us the go-ahead. They both are very important players for us. In case, they’re not there we don’t want to change our strategy or the system because I’m happy with the way the team is performing and I’m very satisfied,” said Zambrotta.
