Coronavirus: Pritam Kotal, Prabir Das, Pronay Halder make donations

The trio donated Rs. 1 lakh 20 thousand together in the West Bengal Emergency Relief Fund.

ATKFC's Indian Super League title-winning trio Pritam Kotal, Prabir Das and Pronay Halder have made their monetary contributions in the West Bengal Emergency Relief Fund for the fight against coronavirus. Pritam and Prabir donated ₹50,000 each while on the other hand Pronay donated ₹20,000.

Speaking to The Times of India, Pritam Kotal said, “This is an emergency. We must all step up to help in this crisis situation. This is just a primary donation, we are looking to help more if needed."

Prabir Das also opened up and added, “Besides donating this amount, I am also looking forward to make other contributions to the needy in my locality. We are in such a situation that all must come forward to help each other who are in need."

Pronay Halder, who provided the winning assist for the Kolkata-based outfit in the ISL final, quoted, “I have contributed my bit. The current players in the city and other former players are coming up for this cause which is very good. In this situation, we must all step up and do something for the good of the state and the people."

In addition to that, Kolkata giant Mohun Bagan have also reportedly made a donation of ₹20 lakhs to the West Bengal State Emergency Relief Fund.

The coronavirus pandemic has affected the sporting fraternity very deeply as every upcoming and ongoing sporting tournament all over the globe has been either postponed or cancelled. In these tough times, many sporting figures and institutions have offered their financial help to combat the disease all over the world. Moreover, it will be seen in the coming days whether the remaining games of the several competitions in this campaign shall take place or not.

At present, the coronavirus count all over the world is more than 5,97,000 and in India, it has massed up to 924. Thus, at such a time, gestures like such shall play a vital role giving the government a boost in its aid to curb the spread of the disease and provide necessary treatment to the affected.
