BBFS were rampant in the second half and controlled the game-play with a brilliant display. . .
A high intensity encounter in the Delhi Zone of U18 I-League saw BBFS & Hindustan FC facing each other at the Dr. Ambedkar Stadium in the heart of the city. HFC opened the scoring through Ningthoujam Naresh Singh in the 22nd minute.
The first half was contested heavily in the midfield with far less openings than these teams have seen during the League. The second half however was a different story as BBFS equalized with a sublime finish from their captain Minlun Tungnung in the 56th minute and then went onto lead the match with a goal in the 66th minute by Aniwesh Gurung which proved to be the winner.
The goal was assisted by Rohit Gusain through a hair splitting pass. Aniwesh, though was unlucky as he was on the receiving end of a soft 2nd yellow by the match referee. The momentum shifted for a while but BBFS continued to form attacks despite being on 10 men.
With this win, BBFS stays on top of the table which also features Delhi United Football Club and
Sudeva Football Club apart from Hindustan Football Club. Remaining matches to be now played on 24th & 26th February which would decide which team qualifies for the National Finals. The U18 I-League is being organised by All India Football Federation to provide competitive exposure at the youth level while also scouting for the most talented players across the country.
