The Spanish midfielder joins the Indian champions till the end of the year

Bengaluru FC have signed Spanish midfielder Alvaro Rubio from Real Valladolid. The enforcer arrives on a season-long deal. Rubio spent a decade with the Spanish Segunda Division outfit between 2006-2016, but left the club following a dispute over the lack of playing time in recent seasons. He made over 300 appearances for the former La Liga side. Rubio has featured for 57 matches in the past two seasons in Spanish second tier. "The offer came to me suddenly, I had to decide in almost a day," the player said in statement to Cadena Ser. Rubio join the growing Spanish contingent at BFC that already features Head Coach Albert Roca, a member of Frank Rijkaard’s backroom staff at Barcelona, Galatasaray and Saudi Arabia, as well assistant Carles Cuadrat. Alvaro Rubio's club debut will come in September’s AFC Cup Quarterfinal against Tampines Rovers
