Ahead of East Bengal’s clash against reigning champions Bengaluru FC, the Red and Gold brigade’s Head Coach Trevor Morgan revealed that he is confident about the next game and it will be the toughest game ‘on paper’. This is the first time the English coach will face Bengaluru FC in-charge of the Kolkata giants this season.

When asked if the 60-year old feels this will be the toughest game for East Bengal this season he replied, “On paper, yes.” However, Morgan also revealed that he feels that easy matches in the I-League are non-existent, “But they are all tough games. There are no easy games in this league,” he further added. The East Bengal coach also said that the next game will be comparatively tougher considering the fact that their opponents are sitting above East Bengal in the standings. “They are above us in the league, so it will be a tough game.”

The Kolkata giants head into their next game with two wins and a draw from their first three I-League fixtures. Morgan was asked if he was content with his team’s performance in the last three games when he answered, “Well, happy yes. I was really happy”, but also said that there are still several chances of improvements among his team, “We can do better, definitely.”

Robin Singh accompanied East Bengal Head Coach Trevor Morgan in the pre-match conference today and was asked for his target in the upcoming match against Bengaluru. “My target is to get 3 points and this time for East Bengal.” Singh won the I-League with Bengaluru FC two years earlier.

A lot of questions were thrown at East Bengal regarding their performance in I-League this season. When asked about the criticism Morgan answered, “It is part of the job, isn’t it? Nobody is ever satisfied.” The English oach then brought up East Bengal’s Calcutta Football League win into the conversation and added, “Nobody was satisfied when we won the Calcutta League. See we can’t win sometimes.”
