Reports suggest that the Catalan club is firm in landing the striker from Inter Milan.

FC Barcelona’s pursuit to rope in Lautaro Martinez is quite complicated currently, says Fabrizio Romano. The Catalonia-based club had begun the negotiations well and the progress was there to be seen initially. However, the situation has become a bit complex ever since the COVID-19 outbreak that has halted footballing activities almost everywhere across the world.

As per Calciomercato, both Barcelona and Inter Milan are currently assessing their positions with respect to this particular transfer. Inter is said to be relatively relaxed considering that Martinez has been in an imperious run of form for them.

He has scored 11 goals and bagged one assist in 22 appearances in the Serie A in the 2019-20 season. Hence, they seem to be content with biding their time and extracting the required transfer fee and other demands from the Blaugrana. The Nerazzurri are keen for the fee to reach the €111m mark along with certain players being involved in the deal too.

Barcelona is also pondering upon the players whom they can make a part of this negotiation. Antoine Griezmann’s name has come up for the same. However, the Frenchman commands a salary close to €18m presently and hence that would be a potential cause of dispute for Inter Milan.

Arturo Vidal is someone whom the FCB management does not wish to be a part of this specific deal. Hence, the talks regarding him haven’t recommenced as things stand right now.

On the other hand, the Brazilian midfielder Arthur could interest Inter Milan as they have fancied him ever since his tenure at Gremio. But, Barcelona could well ask for more than €50m for the 23-year-old.

Inter could also aspire to land Junior Firpo, provided that the Spanish club offers him at the proper price. Nelson Semedo and Carlos Alena’s names have also done the rounds but the circumstances prevailing around them aren’t exactly clear as of now.
