The Spaniard is confident his boys can carry on the winning momentum against Mumbai City.
Atletico de Kolkata will host Mumbai City FC at the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium in Kolkata on Tuesday. Jose Molina’s men are comfortably placed in second position in the table and are yet to lose a match. Mumbai City FC on the other hand are in a spot of bother as Alexandre Guimaraes’ boys are experiencing a slide in form with an extremely important away fixture against the champions of the inaugural edition, ahead of them.
Atletico de Kolkata head coach Jose Molina did not look cool at the pre-match press conference a day before his side’s clash against Mumbai City FC. “We are not too concerned about Mumbai’s recent form coming into this fixture. We played against them a couple of weeks back and it was an extremely difficult match for us. It really could’ve gone either way. But now that they have lost their momentum, I feel that this time, perhaps, we might be able to capitalize on our home advantage,” he said in the pre-match press meet.
The Spanish coach claimed that he is very much satisfied with the performance of his defense despite their off-day against the Delhi Dynamos in the previous match. “I am extremely confident with the performance of my boys in the defensive line. It’s not a concern at all for me. My team is improving day-by-day and that is what matters to me the most.”
Molina was pessimistic about the likely impact of Mumbai marquee Diego Forlan in the meeting between the two teams. He said, “He (Diego Forlan) is 37 years old. He is past his prime. But I feel since Mumbai is paying him so much to play for them, it’s certain that he still has something to offer..”
ATK’s Spanish gaffer informed that Arnab Mondal is set to make a return into the playing XI in the match against MCFC as he mentioned, “I am very much open to the idea of playing more than 5 Indians if I feel that it is the strongest possible team that we can field on a given day. As Henrique Sereno is out with a red card, Arnab will make a return to the XI after being rested in the game against Delhi Dynamos,” Molina told the press.
