The Kolkata side registered an emphatic triumph over the Bangladesh club....

Ranjan Chaudhuri's men never looked back from there as they got goals at regular intervals. The second goal came from Korean hitman Do-dong Hyun in the 34th minute when he lashed into a curling shot from Prohlad Roy to put it into the back of the net as East Bengal were ahead by 2-0. The scoreline remained the same till half-time. East Bengal looked more destructive in the second half as they got one more in the 49th minute from striker Jiten Murmu. It was a beautiful goal from the youngster as he combined well uofront with Adeleja. The young Red and Gold brigade added more pressure oj the defensive line of the Bangladeshi club from Sylhet region. They were out of ideas and failed to find any clue to stop the young side from Kolkata. The last three goals came in the business end of the match when winger Prohlad Roy received an aerial ball from Samad and did not make any mistake to put it on to target which gave East Bengal a leead of 4-0. In the 67th minute East Bengal was awarded a penalty when Adeleja was trapped down by a Bongobir defender and Dong easily foxed the goalkeeper to put it inside the net. The last and final goal came from winger Nikhil Poojary in the 85th minute and it was the last nail on the coffin of Bongobir Ogragami. The best part of the match was that the Calcutta Football League champions did not concede any goal although it was a very ordinary side but the young defense of Arshpreet, Deepak Kumar and Samad played well. With this mammoth victory East Bengal have almost moved a inch ahead in booking a place in the semi-finals as the other two sides in Group B shared a point each in a their first game which had an added advantage over East Bengal.
