As per the protocols the Los Blancos players will be in self isolation for the next two weeks.

The deadly outbreak of coronavirus has seen footballing events getting either rescheduled or suspended. The Italian Serie A was earlier suspended due to the same reasons and following its footsteps the LaLiga too has called off games at least for the next couple of weeks.

Apparently, a player from Real Madrid's basketball team has been tested positive with coronavirus and that has led the LaLiga to suspend the games. The official statement released by the league on its website reads as follows -

"Given the circumstances known this morning, referring to the quarantine established in Real Madrid and the possible positives in players from other clubs, LaLiga considers that the circumstances are already in place to continue with the next phase of the protocol of action against COVID- 19. Consequently, in accordance with the measures established in Royal Decree 664/1997 of May 12, agrees to suspend at least the next two days."

"This decision will be reevaluated after the completion of the quarantines decreed in the affected clubs and other possible situations that may arise."

"LaLiga, as organizer of the competition, has proceeded to communicate it to the RFEF, the CSD and the Clubs."

That said, several other high profile personnel in football have been involved with the detection of the virus. Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani is the recent victim of the virus having recently tested positive. Meanwhile, Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis too confirmed he has contracted coronavirus, less than two weeks after the Greek side knocked Arsenal out of the Europa League.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) has reportedly infected 120,000 people and claimed the lives of more than 4,300 worldwide. Considering the magnitude of the outbreak and the number of countries affected with the virus, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared it as a pandemic.
