FC Bardez Goa host Guardian Angel in GPL

This will be the first game to be played under the floodlights in Goa Pro League history.
FC Bardez will play host to Guardian Angel Sports Club in a Goa Professional League match at Duler Stadium tomorrow. This will be the first time in the history of the GPL that the game will be played under the floodlights. Guardian Angel have played 5 games and have 8 points. This will be their 6th match of the season and they will surely want to make it count. If they beat FC Bardez, they will move up to the 5th place with 11 points. They have won two, drawn two and lost one game. Guardian Angel SC played their last game with Corps of Signals and it was a 0-0 draw. FC Bardez will be looking to keep their winning momentum going as they are the league leaders having played 8 game and are on 17 points. They have won five, drawn two and lost one game. They beat Coprs of Signals in their previous match as Peter Carvalho and Koko Sakibo hit the back of the net for FCBG. The last game saw manager Armando Colaco start with four U-20 players. FCBG left-back Jessel Carneiro will miss out as he still has an ankle injury. Striker Myron Mendes also has a groin injury, FC Bardez probable starting XI : Mirshad K, Lenstan Afonso, Rowilson Rodrigues, Cavin Soares, Sarineo Fernandes, Girish Naik, Peter Carvalho, Richard Costa, Alesh Sawant, Latesh Mandrekar.. FC Bardez Defender Rowilson Rodrigues said, ”I am thankfull to God that my team is in the top positon of the league, but there is a long way to go. Our coach has guided us and helped us, so we want to repay the favour back as we do our best to get those 3 points, not forgetting the management who has backed us every step of the way. The most important part is out fans, they have been with us from the start, and I hope they keep supporting us” Assistant Coach Climax Lawrence said, “We are very happy that we are on the top of the table, but we must not be over excited because Guardian Angel is also a good club. They have only played 5 games so far, but we will have to keep the winning momentum going and work even harder to stay top.“ Coach Armando Colaco also added, ”The boys are getting their grove and I like their play now.
