TKingslee Fernandes and Saviour Gama scored for their teams…

FC Bardez Goa and Vasco Sports Club played out a 1-1 draw in the TACA U-20 League match at Duler Stadium .

Vasco started the game on a positive note as Kingslee Fernandes put them in front in the 4th minute. They could have made it 0-2 but Kingslee Fernandes failed to hit the back of the net. FC Bardez bounced back as they took control of the second half and struck back in the 56th minute from a stunning free-kick.

Vasco started the game with a bang as they struck the net right in the 4th minute as Rajan Yadav crossed in the ball from the right wing to Kingslee Fernandes who was unmarked. Kingslee hit a light left foot volley straight in the top corner of the net. In the 19th minute Ronil Azavedo got the ball just outside the Vasco box, beat Joy Dias and tried an angled shot which didn’t trouble the keeper.

Two minutes into the second half Vasco almost doubled their score as Princeton Rebello passed the ball to Kingslee Fernandes, he faked the goalkeeper by sending him the wrong way, but saw his chipped shot go just wide.

In the fifty six minute Ronil Azavedo was taken down by the Vasco defender. Saviour Gama took the 30 yard free-kick and made it count as he scored right in the top corner of the net leaving the keeper no chance as he looked at the ball go past him. On 85 minutes Lalbabu Mahtd shot a screamer of a shot, but had to see it go over the crossbar.

In the final minute FC Bardez could have won the game as Kiritikesh Gadekar crossed in a superb ball from the right flank, only to see Manjunath Rathod fail to keep his header on target. In the second minute of injury time FC Bardez got a free-kick. Saviour Gama took it again. This time it was a screamer of a shot, but it hit the bar and went out.

FC Bardez have now played 5 games and are on 6 points, while Vasco have played only 4 games and are on 5 points.

FC Bardez manager Climax Lawrence said,” We made silly mistakes, we should have played more from the wings. If we had done so we would have surely won the game. The second half was better than the first as the boys got themselves up.”
