Though Vasco suffered a defeat in the last match, they were high on confidence after putting some brilliant performance against Dempo SC. At the half-hour mark, Vasco’s Schubert Perreira was in the commanding position after receiving a short pass from Clive Coelho in the box but the frontman's powerful shot was brilliantly blocked by Bardez keeper Aliston Fernandes.
In the counter-attack, Bardez opened their account when Jessel Carneiro flung high to tap-in to Shubham Dessai’s fine cross from the left. It was just a few seconds after the first goal when their home fans got the chance to celebrate their second as Kirtikesh sparkling shot finished in the net from the top of the box making it 2-0 for the Pink Brigade.

Down by a five-goal with just 30 more minutes to go, Vasco tried to organise and came up with a possession football and also marched on opponents on few occasions but Bardez strong last line cleared every danger to keep the clean sheet.
