FC Bardez launched in Goa

The new outfit will make their debut in the Goa Professional League next month...
The Lemos Sports Concept on Sunday launched Football Club de Bardez' with the aim of performing well in their maiden appearance in the Goa Professional League starting late next month. The unveiling of the club was held at Duler Football Stadium, in the presence of many dignitaries including local MLA Glenn Ticlo, GFA President Elvis Gomes, Robert Lemos chairman & co-owner of FC Bardez and Savio Roy Director & co-owner of FC Bardez. Launching the club Roy said, “As of now we are focused on Goa Pro League. 2nd Division I-league next year and then I-League and ISL.” GFA President Gomes welcomed the club stating “The club is a gift for Bardezkars (people of Bardez taluka). People from here should support them. I wish them all the best” FC Bardez has appointed former Dempo and East Bengal boss Armando Colaco as their Head Coach. They have also signed former Indian national team captain Climax Lawrence as Assistant Coach and Former Indian international goalkeeper Chandrakant Naik as Goalkeeping Coach. The club have also acquired the services of Ex-Dempo SC players Peter Carvalho (captain), Rowilson Rodrigues and Joy Ferrao. The other local signings are Jessel Carneiro, Mathew Gonsalves, Lenstan Afonso, Richard D’costa, Girish Naik, Serino Fernandes, Latesh Mandrekar, Shubam Rao Dessai, Savior Gama, Jesmon Soares, Anselmo Furtado, Santosh Puary (GK), Kritikesh Sadekar, Augustine D’mello (GK), Cavin Soares and Ashley Cardoz. Armando Colaco, coach of the club said “I want to play my style of football, so I have signed players who have played under me especially Peter, Rowlison, Joy Ferrao and also Jessel. Also signed Climax Lawrence to assist me, I want them to play in my way.” FC Bardez will be making their Goa Professional League debut this season and will be playing all their home matches at Duler Football Stadium, Mapusa.
