 2-0

Mohun Bagan came into the second half with one single aim, to hold onto their one goal lead. The Mariners displayed a magnificent defensive gameplay while East Bengal kept on attacking and creating chances but not converting any of them. The East Bengal team might have played a superior role in the midfield but the Red and Gold players failed miserably in the final third, which cost them another trophy this year. Logging out, see you later!

90' 4 minutes of extra time is added by the assistant referee to the second half of the Kolkata derby.

89' Substitution: Jeje Lalpekhlua IN, Balwant Singh OUT.

87' Looking like East Bengal fans are leaving the stadium already! An unfortunate turn of events for the Red and Gold Brigade tonight!

86' Substitution: Prabir Das IN, Darryl Duffy OUT.

84' GOOOAAAL! Balwant Singh scores the second goal of the evening after receiving a cross from Katsumi on the right-hand side before sending the ball into the nets!

82' Less than 10 minutes are remaining on the clock for East Bengal to score an equaliser. However, it the score remains the same or Mohun Bagan gets another goal, the fans are in for another final between Bengaluru FC and Mohun Bagan.

81' Kotal goes down after a head bump in the air with Wedson. Looks like the defender might need some medical attention over there.

78' The tempo of the game has gone down a bit. However, the visiting supporters still keep cheering on!

75' Yellow card! Sehnaj Singh is shown a yellow card by the referee after bringing down Wedson Anselme with a rash tackle.

73' Mohun Bagan goes on another attacking run as the play resumes but is intercepted by Arnab Mondal and Gurwinder Singh who sends the ball back to the game.

70' Debjit is down! The Mohun Bagan goalkeeper bumps with a speeding Willis Plaza in order to save a ball but goes down after the face-on bump! The medical crew comes inside the pitch.

69' Free-kick for East Bengal! Mehtab takes the shot but the ball goes outside the pitch. Goal kick for Mohun Bagan.

67' Substitution: Robin Singh IN, Md. Rafique OUT.

65' Katsumi with a corner kick but the threat is cleared by East Bengal defenders with ease.

61' It's quite a surprise how Mohun Bagan is holding onto to lead even after most of their players are being outclassed by those of East Bengal. For a starter, Subhasish has not made a single overlapping run to the East Bengal box until now and has been performing below par since the beginning of the game yet the East Bengal players can't equalise using the very same wing. Disappointing!

60' Narayan Das with a low ball to Bikash Jairu who had cut inside the middle but the winger is brought down by Bagan defenders.

57' Pritam Kotal with a free kick from the 30 yards but the shot goes straight to the East Bengal goalkeeper.

56' Robin Singh is warming up on the sidelines. Looks like an impact substitution is on the cards for East Bengal.

53' Sony Norde with a free kick from 30 yards but the threat is contained by the East Bengal goalkeeper who saves the ball with ease.

51' Sehnaj Singh and Souvik Chakraborti is being taken for granted by Mehtab Hossain and Rowlin Borges in the midfield as the latter duo is not allowing the Bagan midfielders to keep possession.

49' This has been a disappointing evening for Bagan skipper Katsumi Yusa who has only been passing sidewards and backwards since the beginning of the match.

47' Chance for East Bengal! Wedson receives the ball inside the Mohun Bagan box and dribbles past Anas before shooting a curled shot towards the Bagan goal but the ball goes outside of the pitch.

46' And the second half is underway! Mohun Bagan 1-0 East Bengal!

8:05pm The players are back on the field. Brace yourselves, the second half is just going to start!

East Bengal started the match very brightly as the Red and Gold Brigade created several chances in the early minutes of the first half. East Bengal wingers Bikash Jairu and Md.Rafique put in several pinpoint crosses but the forwards, i.e. Plaza and Wedson could not finish the chances to provide their club with a lead over Mohun Bagan. On the other side, Bagan defended magnificently, breaking down several East Bengal attacks in their corner box to marking Wedson Anselme, cutting the supply line to Willis Plaza upfront. Mohun Bagan retaliated in a short moment's notice in the later first half as Darryl Duffy received a cross from Norde and headed the ball behind the East Bengal keeper. After the goal, East Bengal dropped deep down to defend against the frequent Bagan attack, which denied them to equalise in the first half. Be back soon, stay tuned!

45'+1' The referee whistles to indicate the conclusion of the first half. Mohun Bagan leads with a single goal over East Bengal.

45' One minute of extra time is added by the assistant referee to the first half.

44' Jairu tries to find Plaza inside the Bagan box but Debjit charges sidewards and collects the ball before it could reach Plaza behind.

42' Norde tries to take the ball in a forward run but Mehtab intercepts the ball with a sliding challenge which sends the ball out of the pitch.

39' Yellow card! Gurwinder brings down Duffy with a nudge and is shown a yellow card by the referee in response.

38' It was just a moment of brilliance from Bagan's forward duo Duffy and Norde which lead the Mariners to the first goal of the match. Since the first goal, East Bengal looks like to be dropping deep to deal with Bagan's frequent counter attacks.

34' GOOOOAAAAL! Darryl Duffy scores! Mohun Bagan leads!

31' Mohun Bagan is having a hard time to keep possession of the ball as East Bengal is enjoying a 58% possession compared to that of 32% of Mohun Bagan till now.

29' Mohun Bagan seems to have caught the tempo of the game as it is becoming tougher and tougher for East Bengal to attack as often as they were doing in the early moments of the match.

25' Norde shoots the ball on the left side of the bars but Subhasish dives and fists the threat out of the pitch.

24' Free kick to Mohun Bagan! Sony Norde to take the shot!

23' Plaza passes the ball to Wedson just in front of the Mohun Bagan box. The Haitian picks it up and shoots the ball wide over the bars. Wasted yet once again!

20' Rafique with a long ball to the Mohun Bagan half but nobody is there to pick the ball up as the ball goes out of the match.

18' Katsumi tries to take the ball on a forward run but is forced to pass the ball sidewards to Sehnaj. This is an exact re-display of what happened with the Mariners in their previous match against Bengaluru FC.

16' The Red and Gold Brigade is doing a fine job pressing their opponents but their finishing has been a tad bit tacky. Rowlin Borges tries to score from a long shot but the ball goes straight to Debjit's hands. Wasted once again.

13' Bheke with a long ball to Wedson but Eduardo intercepts the ball and clears the threat. Bagan is doing a fine job defending against the East Bengal attacks so far!

11' Chance once again! Jairu with a diagonal intended for Wedson in the Mohun Bagan box. The Haitian heads it to Rafique who in turn heads the ball right into the hands of Debjit! Wasted once again!

10' Offside! Jairu with an aerial ball to Wedson but the Haitian forward falls into an offside trap and the referee whistles to indicate to pause the play.

8' Chance for East Bengal! Rafique with a cross to Plaza but the Trinidadian marksman fails to convert it into a goal! WASTED!

5' Eduardo with a long pass from down in the field to Balwant upfront but the East Bengal defenders intercepts the ball and sends it back inside the game.

3' Back to back attacks from the both sides in the very early minutes of the match. Looks like this will be a very difficult match for the defenders tonight.

1' And the derby is underway! Stay put everybody!

7:00pm The players have already come out of the tunnel and are going to shake hands before the toss.

6:58pm This is the second semi-final of the day as Bengaluru FC already secured a place in the final after defeating league champions Aizawl FC with a scoresheet of 1-0. The winner of the semi-final 2 will meet the Blues in the final. Minutes to go before the match, stay tuned.

6:55pm The last time these two sides met each other was in the last month only where Bagan edged out East Bengal with a 2-1 scoreline. The last time these two sides met in Federation Cup was on 2nd October 2010 when East Bengal defeated their bitter rivals with a scoreline of 1-0.

6:50pm On the other hand, Mohun Bagan is also missing one of their key forwards in Jeje in their starting line up but the inclusion of both Balwant and Duffy more than makes up for it.

6:45pm It is surprising to see that Rehenesh, once a bright young prodigy under the East Bengal bars is not even on the substitutions bench against their arch-rivals Mohun Bagan. On the contrary, the East Bengal squad somehow looks a bit bizarre with the exclusion of derby veterans such as Dika (Ralte) yet again starting Rafique who has not been at the peak of his performance for quite some time now.

6:42pm Mohun Bagan substitutions: Shilton (GK), Gaikwad, Debnath, Bikramjit (Sr), Jeje, Bikramjit (Jr), Prabir.

East Bengal substitutions: Barreto (GK), Lobo, Ralte, Robin, Samad, Poojary, Ruidas.

6:40pm Mohun Bagan XI: Debjit (GK), Kotal, Anas, Eduardo, Bose, Katsumi (C), Souvik, Sehnaj, Norde, Balwant, Duffy.

East Bengal XI: Subhasish (GK), Bheke, Mondal (C), Gurwinder, Narayan, Rafique, Mehtab, Borges, Jairu, Wedson, Plaza.

Arnab Mondal and Gurwinder Singh will be partnering at the heart of the East Bengal defence against their arch-rivals in the third Kolkata derby of the year.
