FIFA 23: Predicting the top 10 highest-rated players

The new edition of the popular game will be released in September.
The Fifa 22 game cycle is coming to an end and the new trailer has been released for FIFA 23. This will be the last game with 'FIFA' in its name. EA Sports have decided to end the partnership with FIFA after three decades. The game will be renamed EA Sports FC starting next year. PSG star Kylian Mbappé and Chelsea's Sam Kerr are the cover stars for FIFA 23's ultimate version.
Lionel Messi was rated at 93 and was the highest rated player on FIFA 22. New Barcelona signing Robert Lewandowski was the second highest player in the game with a 92 overall rating. Cover star Kylian Mbappe is expected to be one of the highest rather cards on the next edition of the game. Here is our prediction for the top 10 highest rated cards on FIFA 23:
10. Thibaut Courtois - 90
The Belgian goalkeeper was rated 89 in FIFA 22. Courtois enjoyed a brilliant season with Real Madrid last term, winning the La Liga and the Champions League. The Belgian was also the man of the match in the UEFA Champions League final against Liverpool. The 30-year-old is surely due for an upgrade on his 89 rating.
9. Joshua Kimmich - 90
The 27-year-old was once again instrumental in Bayern's Bundesliga triumph last term. Kimmich recorded 3 goals and 12 assists in just 28 league appearances. The German international was rated 89 in FIFA 22 and looks set for a +1 upgrade on FIFA 23.
8. Harry Kane/Son Heung-min - 90
The Spurs duo were yet again at par with the best players in the Premier League last term. The duo helped Spurs rise above Arsenal and return to the Champions League. Antonio Conte's appointment was vital to the duo returning to top form. Son grabbed the golden boot in the league with 23 goals to his name last term.
7. Cristiano Ronaldo - 90
The Portuguese star made a sensational return to Manchester United last summer. Just 10 months later, Ronaldo is keen to force his way out of Manchester in search of Champions League football. Ronaldo recorded 18 goals in the Premier League last season but the Red Devils could only manage a 6th-place finish in the league. We have previously seen players above the age of 30 get constant downgrades in the game and Ronaldo could be the latest victim of the same.
6. Mohamed Salah - 90
Liverpool won the FA Cup and the League Cup last season, but lost the Premier League by just one point and couldn't win the Champions League final. Salah has been instrumental to the Reds' success in the past few years. The Egyptian star also grabbed the Premier League golden boot. Salah is surely due an upgrade on his 89 rating in FIFA 22.

5. Kevin De Bruyne - 91
The Belgium won the Premier League Player of the Year award last term, recording 15 goals and eight assists. Manchester City won the Premier League title yet again. The Belgium star looks set to keep his 91 rating from FIFA 22.
4. Karim Benzema - 91
The French striker let his side to a league and Champions League double last term. On top of that, he was also vital in France lifting the UEFA Nations League trophy. Benzema recorded 44 goals and 15 assists in 46 appearances last season. Benzema is also the favourite to win the Ballon d'Or 2022. The French striker could get a +2 upgrade on his rating from FIFA 22.
3. Lionel Messi - 91
Messi moved from FC Barcelona to PSG on a free transfer at the start of last season. The Argentine was expected to bring the Champions League to Paris, but the operation failed horribly. Messi also struggled to find his feet in Paris and recorded just 6 goals in the Ligue 1 last season. The former Barcelona forward could lose his top spot in the ratings tally this edition.
2. Robert Lewandowski - 92
The new Barcelona striker was rated at 92 on FIFA 22. The Polish goal machine enjoyed another brilliant season in front of the goal. Lewandowski recorded 50 goals and 7 assists in 46 appearances last season. He also finished 2nd in the list for the 2021 Ballon d'Or, just behind Lionel Messi. Lewandowski looks set to continue his goal-scoring form in Barcelona and maintain his rating too.
1. Kylian Mbappé - 92
Kylian Mbappe is the cover star for the game for the 3rd edition running. The 23-year-old recently rejected joining Real Madrid on a free transfer and signed a new contract extension with PSG. The French forward recorded 39 goals and 26 assists. Leaks and early access of the game suggest that Mbappe is set to be the highest-rated player on FIFA 23.
