The Blue Tigers face Afghanistan on November 14 in Tajikistan before meeting Oman five days later.

Igor Stimac has announced a 26-man India squad ahead of the Blue Tigers' FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Afghanistan and Oman. Seiminlen Doungel and Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem are the newest faces in the camp, with the former getting the nod after his excellent performances for FC Goa. The Blue Tigers were unable to defeat Bangladesh and were held 1-1 by the Bengal Tigers at the Salt Lake Stadium last month, but Igor Stimac has retained his optimism by stating that there are three games still remaining to be played. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] The Indian Super League (ISL) started immediately afterwards and the Croatian has been an avid viewer at the games. Its is evident from the way he has picked players for the India squad. In terms of goalkeepers the same combination of Gurpreet Singh Sandhu and Amrinder Singh is constant. However, ATK's new signing Dheeraj has also been given a nod to impress by Stimac. On the defensive front, Sandesh Jhingan remains a big miss for the Blue Tigers. The usual picks in Pritam Kotal, Anas Edathodika, Adil Khan, Rahul Bheke, Narender Gahlot, Mandar Rao Desai and Subhasish Bose are part of the squad. On the other hand, Nishu Kumar and Sarthak Golui too have made the cut this time. Rowllin Borges will once again be a miss in  the squad owing to his injury concerns.  However, Pronay Halder makes a comeback from injury. Anirudh Thapa, Sahal Abdul Samad, Raynier Fernandes, Vinit Rai and Brandon Fernandes all make the cut for the squad to face Afghanistan. Udanta Singh, Lallianzuala Chhangte and Ashique Kuruniyan spearhead the number of talented wingers included. Jackichand Singh and Seiminlen Doungel are also in after featuring heavily for Goa in the first crop of ISL games. [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | Article Continues Below"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS] The forward line has been the problematic factor for India recently, with Stimac even stating that the Blue Tigers require better finishers. Sunil Chhetri leads the forward line along with Manvir Singh. Jamshedpur FC star Farukh Choudhary is back in the team after impressing for the Men of Steel. Stimac has chosen a variety of talented players for the India squad, as the side flies off to play Afghanistan looking for their first win in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers on 14th November.
