The 39-year-old spoke on his team's performance after a nail-biting draw against Bengaluru FC.
After a thrilling game at the Fatorda Stadium, FC Goa and Bengaluru FC ended up sharing the spoils. An Igor Angulo brace within the span of three minutes changed the game for Juan Ferrando and his team, who were lagging behind after Cleiton Silva's first half strike and Juanan's goal.
The Gaurs' head coach felt that his team have several key areas to improve on, despite the point against one of the tougher teams in the league. "Today, was a strange game. We have problems in some details. I think it is very important to learn a lot of these details and improve because next Wednesday we have an important game," said Juan Ferrando.
Midfielder Brandon Fernandes was on the bench for Goa, but he came on as a substitute after the Gaurs went down by two goals. His impact was resounding, however, it was the lack of fitness that prevented him from starting. The head coach remarked, "Last game in playoffs, he injured his knee. He was working a lot with physios. He started pre-season two weeks later. His knee is now pretty good and played good minutes today."
The home team also had several players on the bench who stepped up to provide the two goals in the second half. Juan Ferrando stated, "Not only Brandon but Aiban (Aibanbha Dohling), Alberto Noguera, Romario (Jesuraj), all these players were working a lot in the pitch and helping the team. I think most important after going two down was the change in system, to find and use the space. I think the team understood it very well."
The Spaniard was pensive about the result. He felt like it was two points lost rather than a point gained, despite trailing for the majority of the game. "Our mentality all the time is three points. The second half was better. I am a bit happy because we got a point at the end, but overall I am disappointed with the result," stated Juan Ferrando.
Facing Mumbai City next, FC Goa's chemistry would face a stern and tough test. Ferrando believes that his team will keep improving with every subsequent match and that the best is yet to come.

"Ours is a new team and a new coach. Mumbai has several players who worked with the coach last season. Bengaluru is a compact team with good chemistry because they have been together for three years. For me, it is the first time they have played together and they need time. I hope over the next games we will get better. This is my target," He concluded.
