The mid-week action is tricky for FPL managers as teams tend to rotate their players.

Fantasy Premier League: Southampton gave themselves a shot in the arm with a resilient 1-0 victory over Manchester City while Arsenal saw off a strong Wolves side thanks to goals from Saka and Lacazette. Manchester United overcame a rough start to heap more misery on AFC Bournemouth while Chelsea saw off Watford with ease. Liverpool FC brushed aside Aston Villa comfortably to mark their first league win as champions.

Gameweek 33+ Review – 73 points

Great Gameweek for the team. Captain Jamie Vardy led from the front with 26 points. Supporting him was John Tarkowski, who had a goal in his tie against Sheffield United and Sadio Mane who scored against Aston Villa, both of whom got 11 points each. Caglar Soyuncu and Matt Ryan got seven points each. James Ward-Prowse had three points while Danny Ings, Adama Traore and Allan Saint-Maximin had two points each. Harry Maguire and Kevin de Bruyne had a point each.

The average for the gameweek was 44 points.

Gameweek 34+ Transfers

John Lundstram’s injury seems long term and therefore now is an ideal time to get a replacement. Lucas Digne comes in for the Blades’ player. Everton’s fine run of form coupled by the French international’s regular starting place has prompted the decision.

Gameweek 34+ Line-up

The team is opting for a 3-4-3 formation. Rui Patricio retakes his spot in the starting lineup at the expense of Liverpool facing Matt Ryan. The three starting defenders are newbie Lucas Digne, James Tarkowski and Harry Maguire. Andrew Robertson and  Caglar Soyuncu are on the bench this week.

Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 34+ Lineup

Sadio Mane and Kevin de Bruyne populate the midfield alongside the pacy Adama Traore and the versatile James Ward-Prowse. Newcastle star Allan Saint-Maximin faces Manchester City away this week and therefore moves to the bench. Danny Ings and Jamie Vardy are the starting strikers with Jordan Ayew alongside the duo. Adama Traore is the captain for the week while Lucas Digne is the vice-captain.

Tips and Tricks

  1. Team choices – Watford and Manchester United players should populate your team sheet this week. Manchester City is also a viable option but due to their depth, it would be difficult to predict a proper lineup for Guardiola’s men.
  2. Captain – Bruno Fernandes or Marcus Rashford should ideally be your first choice to be captain. Manchester United’s form coupled with their current hunger for goals gives them the best chance to win this week, especially considering their opponent is Aston Villa.
  3. No Shows – Although Chelsea seem like a good option for this week, there would be a potential goal-drought when they visit Selhurst Park. The Eagles have been resilient against most teams and there is a good chance the Blues might come empty-handed from this fixture.

Manchester United are at Villa Park to face relegation-threatened Aston Villa while Lampard’s Blues go to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace. Liverpool face Brighton at the Amex Stadium while Manchester City are at home to Newcastle United. Tottenham Hotspur face another side in deep trouble, as Vitality Stadium prepares for their clash against Bournemouth. The match of the week is at the Emirates where Leicester City will try to put a firm stop to Arsenal’s mini resurgence.
