There are quite some exciting fixtures in the upcoming weekend with the biggest one between Manchester United and Liverpool at Old Trafford.

It was more bad news for Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United fans as both sides succumbed to surprising losses to Brighton and Newcastle respectively. But neither result qualified to be the surprise of the week, as Wolverhampton stunned the defending champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium to clinch valuable three points.

Chelsea made short work of Southampton thanks to a solid all-round display but Liverpool were made to work till the last minute to maintain their winning start to the league due to a heroic performance from Leicester.

Gameweek 8 Review- 51 Points

Captain Sadio Mane stole the show with 24 points from the trip to Leicester. Patrick van Aanholt got 9 points while Tammy Abraham’s goal for Chelsea gave him 8 points. The rest of the team, however, failed to impress. Andrew Roberston and Harry Kane got two points each but Kyle Walker, Jorginho, John McGinn, and Wilfred Ndidi got one point each.

Erik Pieters and Hugo Lloris were both withdrawn midway through their respective games and both of them got one point each. The Fantasy Premier League team finished well above the average of 36 points.

Gameweek 9 Transfers

Injuries to both the keepers this term, leaves the team with the primary task of bringing in a new one. Both Rui Patricio and Matt Ryan seem like eligible candidates to replace Hugo Lloris, who is tentatively out for a longer period compared to Tom Heaton.

Rui Patricio has a favourable set of fixtures compared to the Brighton shot-stopper and therefore is chosen to replace the French custodian.

Fantasy Premier League - The lethal front three of Kane, Abraham and King is special

3-4-3 is the system used this week. Rui Patricio moves into the starting line-up ahead of Tom Heaton. Andrew Robertson, Kyle Walker and Erik Pieters form the defensive trio with Lascelles dropped due to an away fixture against Chelsea while a trip to Etihad causes Patrick van Aanholt to move to the bench.

Kevin de Bruyne makes the team, despite having only a 75% chance to play, due to the huge upside potential he brings. He is joined in the midfield by John McGinn, Sadio Mane and Wilfred Ndidi with Jorginho sitting out this week as the first substitute. Harry Kane, Tammy Abraham and Joshua King form the front three.

The Tottenham striker, whose side is facing bottom-placed Watford, is the captain for the week, while Tammy Abraham is the vice-captain.

It is tough times for Ole as Liverpool comes calling to Old Trafford. Sheffield United welcomes Arsenal to their Turf while Manchester City will try to regroup and revitalize their season with a win at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace.

It is Watford at home for Tottenham while Newcastle travel to Chelsea after a well-worked win against Manchester United last gameweek.
