The match took place at the Panampilly Nagar ground in Kochi, Kerala at 4:00 pm. Kerala Blasters held Kerala United to a draw, with both teams scoring three goals apiece.
Blasters took an early lead via Sreekuttan VS, which was followed by Bujair equalising for United. However, the Hornbills' joy was short-lived, as Subha Ghosh capitalised on the goalkeeper's mistake to put the Yellow Army back in the lead.
Shafnad later pulled one back for KUFC, after which Adarsh scored their third goal. In the end, Ayush Adhikari found the back of the net for Kerala Blasters, which, in turn meant that that United had to be happy with a drawn result.
On August 20, Kerala Blasters lost to Kerala United by 1-0 in the first pre season friendly match.
