Saeesh Madan, Godfrey Mascarenhas and Stephen Satarkar were the goal scorers for the Greens.

Salgaocar Football Club registered a fluent 3-0 win over Panjim Footballers in the Goa Professional League match played at Nagoa Ground on Saturday.

Saeesh Madan (35’), Godfrey Mascarenhas (71’) and Stephen Satarkar (90+ 1) were the goal scorers for the Green Brigades.

With the teams starting the match on a cautious note, the initial stages saw both sides restrict to midfield duel. Salgaocar FC were given a chance to take the lead at the half hour mark when Panjim Footballers player handled the ball in the box and the referee awarded straight to the spot. Salgaocar FC’s Saeesh stepped up and coolly converted the spot kick.

They led 1-0 at the break. In the second half, Salgaocar FC doubled the account when Godfrey Mascarenhas, on seeing the keeper out of position, took a long shot from the midfield straight in the goal, to make it 2-0.

Salgaocar FC’s Flagan Rodrigues and Stephen Joshant, who came in place of injured Daniel Gomes gave a good account of themselves in the defence.

Salgaocar FC made it 3-0 in the second half injury time when Selwyn Miranda played a through pass to the Stephen Satarkar who made no mistake to hit the ball into the back of the net, 3-0.
