Meghalaya Police Football Team will play Shillong Lajong FC on Thursday 15th September in the Gionee Shillong Premier League encounter at the JN Stadium at 3:30PM...

Lajong youngsters are coming into this match after a 5-2 win over Langsning FC. Lalrammuana, Samuela and Isaac provided the goals for the team. The Reds have won 4 matches and drew twice and have collected 14 points from six games played so far. Despite a few injury concerns in the squad, Lajong is expected to field a strong starting eleven in the match tomorrow. Speaking on the match tomorrow, Shillong Lajong FC Head Coach Thangboi Singto said, “Tomorrow’s match against MLP will be a match that we have to win to end the First leg of the Gionee SPL on Top of the table. MLP will come out strong with Ex-Lajong player as Coach and Ex-Lajong striker Niwano as their Main player and captain. We expect it to be a tough match. So far the boys have done well but we know we can do better. We need to take it forward from our last match against Langsning and play the same way with confidence. If we keep scoring from the chances we create, we should be good.” Meanwhile, MLP have slumped in their recent performances. They started the league with a huge 7-0 and 5-1 win against Nongkrem and Malki respectively. However they were not able to maintain that momentum and lost their last 4 encounters against Lansning, Royal Wahingdoh, Rangdajied United and Nangkiew Irat. Thus the team will hope to bounce back to winning ways against the undefeated Lajong youngsters.
