The Mumbai boss is upbeat despite his side’s recent dip in form.

Mumbai City FC take on FC Goa in a crucial match of the Indian Super League tomorrow and despite his side’s recent dip in form manager Alexandre Guimaraes said the mood in the camp is still positive about the season ahead. Mumbai are already crippled with absentees and injuries and defender Amwar Ali as well as midfielder Leo Costa added their name to the casualty list in the 3-3 draw with Delhi Dynamos on Tuesday night. The Costa Rican said the duo are yet to be assessed ahead of the clash with FCG. Bengaluru FC sealed a 3-1 success over Malaysia’s JDT last night to become the first Indian club to reach the AFC Cup Final. That means inspirational India skipper Sunil Chhetri who startred in yesterday’s win will continue to be missing for a while yet. But, Guimaraes said he is pleased for the Blues’ success. “ He (Chhettri) played fantastically well. He scored superb goals. The first thing I did after the game was to congratulate him and the other guys. They are competing at the international level. This is good for Indian football. I am happy for the club, players and coaches. I hope they return as champions. Then, the energy in the whole group will be much better.” He continued, “During our planning for the season we knew this was a possibility and we have to manage. Till now, the team has shown that that we have back-up to wait until they come back.” Speaking about the his team’s previous game the tactician said.” I think we played a very good match. This is the kind of game that is good for the health of the league. I cannot say anything about our defensive game because everybody has watched what happened for us to concede those goals. So, this is not an error where I can go directly to my players. It was just something that happened on that day and I hope it doesn’t happen again.” FC Goa are winless in their four games this season but Guimaraes insisted it will be a tough game against a strong team. “I think they did not deserve the results they got so far. The play a very courageous, brave and attacking style of football and this is what I am expecting tomorrow. This is the way that got them qualification in the first season and to the Final last season." He also confirmed that marquee Diego Forlan is now back to full fitness and will feature tomorrow.
