Mohun Bagan marred by events during and after I-league draw against Indian Arrows; could face trouble

The game was marred by controversies during and after the game as the young side held the giants to a 1-1 draw.
Mohun Bagan were held to their third consecutive home draw when they played out a 1-1 stalemate against Indian Arrows at the Mohun Bagan Athletic Club Ground on Friday. The Mariners were without the services of the injured Sony Norde and even after taking the lead through Aser Dipanda Dicka's 27th-minute penalty, Arrows equalized a few minutes later with Rahul KP's calm tap-in. The Arrows went down to 10 men in the 2nd half when captain Amarjit Singh Kiyam was sent off, but Bagan couldn't find the winner and played out a frustrating draw in front of a pulsating home crowd.
The Mariners seem to be going through a period of crisis after their buoyant victory against East Bengal in the Kolkata derby earlier this month and look to have badly fallen off the radar. East Bengal have soared since and won all 4 games while Mohun Bagan have only managed to win 1 of their 4 home games. Draws against sides like Neroca FC and Indian Arrows aren't acceptable for a team looking to mount a title challenge in the I-League and this Bagan team seem incapable of doing so at this point.
The home fans were positive to the away team, but not so positive to the faltering Mohun Bagan
The loss of players to the Indian Super League sides have hit them hard as they haven't really been able to replace them with quality home-grown players and injuries to stars like Sony Norde and Yuta Kinowaki has weakened their foreign firepower as well. Both Ansumana Kromah and Dicka were incapable of doing anything against the Arrows, with Anwar Ali and Jitendra Singh containing them really well.
Mohun Bagan's poor form has not reflected well with the fans at all, with the Mariners brigade lashing out on players and mainly on coach Sanjoy Sen after the draw on Friday. There were chants of "Sanjoy Go Out" outside the Mohun Bagan club ground after the match and fans looked livid with Sen's incapability to churn out victories. While Sen himself shrugged off the livid jibes at him by stating it all as "natural" and that he understood why they were furious at him, his side needs to up their game in order to bring back hope to these frustrated supporters.

Despite most of the Bagan fans showing frustration on the day, Luis Norton de Matos was full of praise for them after the game where he spoke about how amazed he was to see the emotions of the fans and loved it. He also said that Bagan are a top-4 team, but couldn't predict whether they could go to win the I-League title this season or not.
The Bagan fans were angry throughout the game and apparently, a group of fans even had a scuffle with the fans of the away team, Indian Arrows. As everyone may know, the Arrows consist of India U-17 and U-19 players and many Indian fans travelled to watch them at the stadium. But things apparently got pretty heated between the Bagan fans and Arrows fans, with some violence also ensuing for some-time.
A brawl broke out among the home supporters of Mohun Bagan and the away fans as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
[KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]While most of the Mohun Bagan fans were respectful of the Young Colts and even cheered them away when the players were leaving with their team bus, the controversy of the scuffle ensuing outside the stadium is a sign of worry for the club who will hope to host more I-League matches at the Mohun Bagan Athletic Ground in the future.
The AIFF could blacklist the ground from hosting any I-League matches if any major problems comes to their notice, so these are worrying signs for the Mariners who will need to improve their form and management to make sure these controversies don't ensue in the future.
