The officials also confirmed that the resignation letter of Srinjoy Bose has not been accepted.
Mohun Bagan issued an official statement explaining the decision to accept the resignation of former executive committee member Debashish Dutta in a press conference earlier today.
Sailendra Nath Ghosh, who is Honorary Tennis Secretary of the club and one of the members of the newly-found finance committee of the Mariners explained why they had let go of a long-standing member in Dutta in the press conference.
"He (Dutta) kept on missing regular meetings among the executive committee. We kept on sending him letters to attend the meetings, but he ignored them."
He further added, "The reasons which Debashish gave for his resignation were his own and nobody else's. It was his own excuse that he wasn't allowed to work properly by the higher-ups in the committee. He was never under pressure which he stated to be in by the board and these reasons were all made-up by himself."
When asked about what they would do about the resignation of another former executive committee member Srinjoy Bose, Ghosh said, "What the Bose family has done for Mohun Bagan cannot be forgotten. If they weren't there, then maybe Mohun Bagan wouldn't be in the same position in which it is. It's because Bose is our sponsor that they are like a god to us. Therefore, his resignation has not been accepted yet. "
Ghosh further added that Bagan have a budget of ₹11.5 crore for the 2017/18 season, which includes everything including the players, staff and so on. When asked about when the staff will be paid for their work of last season, he said that all their dues would be cleared within next week.

Ghosh said that the transfer was done by Mitra and he must have thought it to be a needed one. He also added that coach Shankarlal Chakraborty knew about it and fully supported his decision.
When asked about why the contracts of the players are being reviewed Ghosh stated, "We never said that we had any financial troubles or that the bills of the club will not be paid. We are reviewing the contracts of the players as a measure of safety. Due to financial constraints, the club wants to be sure about the fitness of the players who are signing for us next season." "Last season, due to the injury of certain players, we had to look for replacements mid-way through the season which we don't want to repeat next season. We don't want that to happen next season, which is why we're reviewing every player and want the club to have the best squad possible in the season ahead," he concluded.
