The Punjab FC owner and team manager made the shocking claim following his team's defeat to the Mariners.

High-flying Mohun Bagan continued their winning form, as they beat Punjab FC 1-0 at the Kalyani Municipal Stadium to take a nine-point lead at the top of the I-League table. Following the game, Punjab FC owner and team manager, Ranjit Bajaj, who was very animated at the final whistle shared his opinion on various issues in the post-match press conference.

A solitary goal from Papa Babacar Diawara was enough to seal the match for the Mariners, as tempers flared on both sides, with there being some controversial calls throughout the game.

Ranjit Bajaj spoke about the atmosphere, the Mohun Bagan fans and how they are different from the fans in the Indian Super League. “There was such a great atmosphere. The kind of fan-following we have with Mohun Bagan is amazing."

Bajaj also went on to elaborate on his relationship with match commissioner, Balasubramaniam Byrappa and how he had shared a bad experience with the same person last season.

"I don’t think Mohun Bagan deserved to win because of that goal. I felt that was a foul. I came to talk about the match commissioner. I don’t know what the AIFF do. I complained about him for a lot of time. He caused the problem in the Chennai City FC Vs Punjab FC last match of the season. The first report he gave was that everything was perfect. After 30 minutes another report was sent, saying that 'I found Bajaj wasn’t as excited as usual. I felt that was guaranteed match-fixing and the match was fixed.' He was proven to be wrong after I took it up and I was banned for six matches."

"I’m shocked that a person who got me death threats is a match commissioner. This is the kind of  professionalism the AIFF rewards. No action has been taking against him for ruining my life and my reputation. He’s gotten my mother, my father and me death threats. AIFF put him in my most important match of the season. He’s threatened me in the match itself. He writes lies in the match report. Its proven he writes lies, but the AIFF still doesn’t take action. When you talk to him, he laughs at me, " Bajaj added.

The Punjab FC owner and team manager spewed fire against Byrappa for targeting him in the past and still keeping his position. Bajaj also shared his conversation with the AIFF and how despite the truth coming out last season, no action was taken against him.

“The reason you have to ask him. What is the reason that he wrote about fixing against Minerva? Why did he make all the comments against Mr Bajaj? Why did he tell the fourth official to go focus on me? He told me to go sit in the dugout in a defamatory manner. Who is corrupt, unethical and wrong here?

The AIFF said I was right, but no action was taken against him. If there was a problem with Mohun Bagan, it was a different thing. But, a match commissioner taking a personal problem with me is wrong. He shouldn’t have been put in this match."

"They could’ve put anyone except him in this match. I’m really surprised and shocked that how he did. Being honest and doing this, but getting this treatment is wrong. The AIFF does nothing to take action against this gentlemen. There are comments he made which are inappropriate personal comments. I can’t figure out why he has a personal agenda against him,” he went on to add

The match commissioner recorded the whole incident, but he denied every allegation that Bajaj raised against him.
